Mozambique :: Information :: Luxury Resort Hotels
Safari 2 Africa has perfected the art of pampering guests in exotic and unspoiled locations. We have made our mark in southern Africa by embracing some of the region's most breathtaking destinations; like the luxury beach resorts Mozambique has to offer.
Mozambique has 2,515 kilometres of Indian Ocean coastline dotted with sandy beaches and clear water, colonial hotels, an abundance of some of the world’s most exquisite seafood. The interior of the country offers beautiful scenery, birdlife and wildlife. Each of Mozambiques provinces has its own unique cultures, languages, dance, music and handicraft.
Mozambique is a country of spectacular contrasts: beautiful beaches, exotic cities, stunning islands and fascinating cultures.
Due to its excellent location on the East African coast, Mozambique early on became a significant trading post for gold, ivory and later slaves. Civil war followed the end of Portuguese rule, but since 1992, the country has enthusiastically set about rebuilding, with an ever-growing economy. Though its natural resources are extensive, the country's biggest treasure is arguably its marine biodiversity.
The country also boasts many stunning game parks, lakes, mountains and historical towns. With such diversity and natural splendour, Mozambique is a travel destination second-to-none.
Formerly a Portuguese colony, it has once again become the playground of Southern African and international tourists who visit the turquoise waters of various islands and coastal resorts.
The cooler dry months April to September to benefit from the best wildlife viewing and excellent weather. November to December is normally best for birding activities. Remember summers are humid to very humid (tropical) in the north.
During February the Bazaruto Islands are on CYCLONE (HURRICANE) alert - most lodges close during this period.
The Bazaruto Archipelago is a group of islands in Mozambique , comprising of the islands of Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Banque and Santa Carolina.
