This safari in Botswana
is an excellent opportunity to see the country's fantastic
wildlife.A diverse itinerary ranging from
the Specials Makgadikgadi salt pans, the Kalahari wilderness
areas, the Okavango Delta to three of Botswana's prime wildlife
reserves, and a dramatic finale at Victoria Falls.
DAY 1 & 2
Depart Maun for game-drive to Makgadikgadi salt pans. Spectacular
scenery, richly diverse game, good birding. Two overnights
camping.
DAY 3 & 4
Game-drive to campsite in Deception Valley in the Central
Kalahari Game Reserve, via Tsoe and Rakops. Great variety
of desert-adapted wildlife, good raptor sightings. Two overnights
camping.
DAY 5
Travel to Deception Valley Lodge, bordering the Reserve.
Night game-drive viewing nocturnal wildlife. Overnight at
the Lodge.
DAY 6 & 7
Drive to Maun, for scenic light aircraft flight into the
Okavango Delta. Explore the Okavango by mokoro (canoe) and
powerboat, and the islands on foot and in open 4x4 safari
vehicles. Two overnights camping on private concession.
DAY 8 & 9
Light aircraft to Khwai, north-eastern Okavango. Days spent
on extensive game-viewing drives. Two camping overnights.
DAY 10 & 11
Drive to Savute, two nights camped next to the now dry Savute
Channel. Excellent predator sightings.
DAY 12 & 13
Drive to northern Chobe and camp in Serondela, renowned for
huge elephant herds around the Chobe River. Two overnights
camping in Chobe National Park.
DAY 14
Short drive from Chobe to Victoria Falls. Enjoy the varied
activities at the Falls. Overnight at The Kingdom Hotel.
DAY 15
After breakfast at the hotel the safari ends.
